Over the next few weeks, I will post links to ballots for individual categories of lindy hop videos that have been submitted to me over the past few months.
There will be 4 categories that will open in the following schedule:
October 6: Couple Routines ballot (NOW OPEN); YouTube playlist; Couple Routine Annotations blog post
October 13: Team Routines ballot; YouTube playlist; Annotations blog post
October 20: Competitions ballot; YouTube playlist; Annotations blog post
October 27: Improvised Social Dances ballot; YouTube playlist; Annotations blog post
To give people time to review and vote on each list, I plan to keep voting open for every category until November 1st
Eventually, you can see YouTube playlists of each category on my YouTube channel here.

Why The Internet is Actually Not Forever and The Best Lindy Hop Videos of the 21st Century
PFAQ-Probable Frequently Asked Questions
Why isn't (X) on this list?
Because you didn't nominate them. And the 64 people who did submit nominations thought there were at least 5 other performances that were better than that one.
Honestly, I was surprised personally by how many performances or dancers didn't make it, but at the end of the day, top 5 is a really high bar. I still got 136 nominations, and when this is over, there's only going to be one video at the top.
Can I still nominate something?
No. Nominations were opened at the beginning of July and officially closed back on September 7. Then I kept it unofficially open until the end of the September to enable some procrastinators, but I needed to move on eventually.
Why are we only voting on 38 videos instead of all 136 nominated videos?
I experimented with dividing the list of nominations in several ways to make it easier for voters to digest and vote, but I realized that there was no great way to do that for 136 videos. I made the arbitrary decision to eliminate those videos that were only nominated once by one person. The remaining 38 were nominated multiple times.
I also have the luxury of seeing the final vote tally from the original nominators list and, to be completely honest, I find it highly unlikely that anything from this tier of videos has a serious chance of overtaking most of the more nominated videos. I'm sure there could be some exceptions, but I only have a limited amount of time and resources to devote to this. If you don't see your favorite performance in any of these lists, then just think of it as an opportunity to make use of the internet on your own.
Can we see the other 98 nominated videos?
I will post those videos in an honorable mentions list after voting closes in November.
Why do I have to submit an email with my vote?
I was all set to make these ballots open without emails, but then I remembered that I personally know a few people who would very much abuse the ability to submit an unlimited number of votes.
This form sucks for voting, did you look at "X" website/app?
I tested out several sites, and this is the best option that was available for free. It's not ideal, but I'm not making any money on this to justify spending any for nicer voting options.
I don't like the way you did this project.
Not a question, but I'm sure more than a few people are thinking this. The power of free will allows you to keep living your life without devoting any energy to any of this. Feel free to exercise it.
I have one or multiple ideas for you to do this differently.
I've been working on this since July and have planned this out through the end of the year. Unless your suggestion makes this process easier for me, then you can keep it to yourself and use it when you create your own poll.
How long will voting be open?
Until November 1st
When will you reveal the final results?
Some time after that and before Christmas. Of this year. Probably.
Lastly, I want to shout out the Legacy Library project sponsored by the Pacific Swing Dance Foundation to which is trying preserve audio and videos of the generations of dancers who originated the dance.
